On September 15-17, 2005, President Clinton hosted the Clinton Globel Initiative (CGI), a major conference that brought together global leaders from business, politics, science, religion and non-governmental organizations. The CGI was a forum for the group to develop concrete policies and implement solutions to the world's most challenging problems.
Focused on results, the Clinton Global Initiative was a non-partisan conference in which attendees participated in workshops and meetings focused on four main topics: poverty; climate change; religion, conflict and reconciliation; and enhancing governance. Attendees were asked to make a specific pledge to address one of those areas and will report on their progress to President Clinton over the course of the year.
